It Takes a Village!
Relationspot was founded as a social impact enterprise with the belief that you should be able to do good in the world in the context of a self-sustaining organization that can support growth and be replicated. We built the foundation for our organization over the past three years, starting with a successful speed-friending event. We quickly pivoted to online Zoom get-togethers, and connected with a growing number of participants through a Facebook group. As the risk of COVID subsided, we launched weekly Saturday in-person activities and dinners to complement our weekly Friday evening online socials.
With an established community of over 300 Facebook users and dozens of regular online and in-person participants, we launched Relationspot in March 2024 with a membership model designed to cover our costs and provide a sustainable platform for expansion and growth. During this exciting period, we are looking for donors to help us serve more individuals and move beyond New York City to offer in-person programming for more communities in the tri-state area. Specifically, we are looking for donors to help us with the following priority services and programs:
- Weekly Zoom Get-Togethers
Help pay for coaches for our Friday evening online socials. You can sponsor a weekly Zoom event for $250. - Relationspot Memberships
Contribute to our scholarship fund so participants can become Relationspot members regardless of financial limitations. You can fund a Relationspot membership for $399. - In-Person Social Events
Help underwrite the cost of an in-person social event such as dinner or bowling. Relationspot hires coaches to facilitate conversations and uses private rooms whenever possible to reduce noise and other environmental stressors. You can help offset the cost of these beneficial supports, which average $25-$30 person, by underwriting a dinner or social activity for $500 to $1,000. - Operating Support
Help us cover staffing costs and marketing efforts as we spread the word and build our membership base. The need for friendship in an inclusive, nonjudgmental community is great. Help Relationspot increase its capacity to serve more individuals now.
We are thrilled to be able to accept donations of any amount through our fiscal sponsor, Realize Impact. Realize Impact is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that facilitates impact investing with philanthropic funds. It works to funnel philanthropic dollars to impactful companies working on solutions to the climate crisis, racial, economic, and social injustice, and other issues. It does this through philanthropic investment grants, fiscal sponsorship of impactful for-profits, and partnerships with other organizations, such as Relationspot that have a charitable impact and serve an inclusive, neurodivergent community of all abilities.
